Apple Tree Cottage, a Cosy retreat in beautiful surroundings.
Our "cosy retreat" offers warm and comfortable accommodation throughout the year. The beautiful hand-crafted kitchen/diner really is the focal point of the cottage. Fully equipped with oven, hob, refridgerator, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, table and chairs you'll find yourselves spending a lot of time here! The lounge with its wood burner and a supply of logs, television and stereo system is the place to wind down after the day's activities. The fully appointed bathroom has a brand new Victorian style suite comprising a full sized bath with shower over and glass splash panel, Wash-hand basin, WC, and radiator with heated towel rail.

Upstairs and outside the cottage.
The two bedrooms (one Double and one Twin) have stunning views of Llanymynech Rock. The twin bedroom has a further mattress under one of the beds in case you have a fifth guest.(when the mattress is used It makes the bedroom a bit of a squeeze but we do not charge extra for the use of this facility) Outside there is a well-stocked Cottage garden to the front of the cottage. You can relax on the bench and enjoy the garden, or pass the time of day with the friendly locals. To the rear of the cottage is an off-road parking space and a raised terrace with a table and chairs and a Barbeque for those summer nights! Note: We wish to advise customers that the height of some doorways means that people over six foot three inches tall may bang their heads in places. Please contact us for further information.

The Surroundings and THINGS TO DO:
Llanymynech is an attractive village half in England and half in Wales, with beautiful views over Llanymynech Rock. The village boasts three great pubs, two in England and one in Wales. In addition there are Indian and Chinese takeaways within walking distance. Golfers will be amazed at the views from the Llanymynech golf course where a young Ian Woosnam learnt his game. Things to do: Llangollen is only 25 minutes by car and has an adventure centre with White Water Rafting,Canoeing and Rock Climbing and many other outdoor activities. Or, a real family favourite- an amazing trip on 'The Thomas Telford' canal boat culminating in a trip over the Pontycyslatt Aquaduct 130 feet above the River Dee. The Historic town of Chester is also only 35 minutes by car with its Roman Battlements and ramparts which encircle the town and make for a wonderful walk, or Shop in the medievel shops set on two levels,a shopping experience like no other. Also within driving distance: Portmerion, Llandudno, Conwy (which has the smallest house in Britain) and much much more. Ramblers will find this an ideal centre with Offa's Dyke running close by.

Paul says: "We have just arrived back today from a five day break at this wonderful cottage. All four of us loved our stay here, the locals were all so friendly and the rep, Bev was very helpful with local info and was always available when needed. The next door neighbours, Brian and Joan were also a fantastic help, lending us local walking trail maps and even showing us around there lovely gardens! The patio area at the rear at the property is a lovely little sun trap with a barbecue which was a real bonus as we got lucky with the weather being scorching every day! The cottage itself is soooo cosy we only went out on the last night because we loved it there so much! Out and about there is three pubs in the village, we tried two of them with our favourite being The Dolphin Inn. We would also recommend The Rhaeaedr Waterfall for a day out, only half an hour drive into Wales from the cottage. There are walking trails all around the village, along the canal and up Lllanymynech Rock with panoramic views if you feel energetic enough to climb up there!! The only bad thing about this cottage was leaving!! We miss it already."
